European Regional Development Funding has been invested across the South of Scotland.Profiled below are a selection of projects parrt-financed under the Objective 2 Programme.  As those part funded under the LUPS Programme develop, these will be profiled here:

 


Ettrick Riverside Business Creation Centre

Ettrick Riverside Business Creation Centre

Ettrick Riverside Business Creation Centre in Selkirk is the Scottish Borders' newest business, conference and training centre. Based in an old spinning and weaving mill the centre offers state of the art facilities to help encourage the growth of new and existing knowledge based businesses.

7 Stanes Mountain Bike Centres

The 7 Stanes Mountain Bike Centres aims to utilise the dramatic landscape of the South of Scotland to create high quality mountain bike trails. 150kms of routes will be created around seven centres to help make the region one of the country's foremost areas for mountain biking.

North West Resource Centre

North West Resource Centre

The Communities in Partnership project based at North West Resource Centre provides an integrated facility to deliver a range of services including further education, childcare, training and business advice in the targetted regeneration area of North West Dumfries.

Scottish Forest Industries Technology Centre

The South of Scotland is one of the most densely forested regions in Britain. The Scottish Forest Industries Technology Centre (SFITC) at the Barony College near Dumfries uses the latest technology to equip the local industry with the skills necessary to compete in this constantly changing international industry.

ERDF investment: £156,000

Scottish Forest Industries Technology Centre

Crichton Business Park

Crichton Business Park

The Crichton estate on the outskirts of Dumfries has been transformed into a Business Park, University Campus and venue for conferences set within beautiful park land. 

One element of this development has been the refurbishment of Galloway House to provide a high quality office and call centre facility within Crichton Business Park.
